Osteopathy, as a medical practice, has been legally recognized by the French National Assembly on February 12, 2002. Furthermore, a decree approved on March 25, 2007 framed the practice and its training, stressing its legitimacy in the global healthcare system.

Refunding

Osteopathic acts are currently not covered by the French national healthcare system (Securite Sociale) even if performed by a medical doctor or a physical therapist. However, a growing number of private insurance companies offer reimbursement if an appropriate invoice is submitted. Do not hesitate to inquire.

The Eur Ost D.O. label

Administrated by the European Federation of Osteopaths and carefully granted to osteopaths holding a D.O. degree, the Eur Ost D.O. label is meant to ensure:

- a high level of education and training,
- a code of ethics and good practices,
- a professional competence entirely dedicated to osteopathy
